Six scouts and six adults did the challenging 51.4 mile ride from Palo Alto to SF today. It was quite an adventure. At the end I think everyone felt they’d accomplished something special. Started at 8am in Palo Alto. Barely made it the SF Caltrain station in time for the 4:15 train home. Only two flat tires. Nice weather and beautiful scenery.
Big thanks to Zachi for his excellent leadership – energetic, totally knew the route and watched outfor the safety of everyone on the trip. Thanks to all the participants for being prepared and having such a good attitude.
Five scouts earned the Cycling MB – everyone except for Trevor who already earned the MB and did the trip just for fun! I’m hoping some of the adults use this experience to become Cycling MB counselors and lead future SF trips.
